Huge congratulations to Prof. Daniel Vignon on receiving the 2025 NYU Tandon Junior Faculty Research Award, which is an annual honor bestowed upon an Assistant Professor in recognition of their notable research accomplishments. Prof. Vignon, who teaches in the Civil & Urban Engineering Department, leads the Laboratory for the Economic Analysis of Transportation Systems (FEATS) at the C2SMART Center.

With a background in both engineering and economics, his research seeks to inform the design, regulation, and operation of emerging mobility services and smart infrastructure systems. As well as this award, Prof. Vignon received the Richard J. Arnott Best Overall Paper Prize at the 2024 ITEA Annual School and Conference on Transportation Economics. Recognition like this surely contributed to this year’s honor, which bases its selection upon factors like publications in top-tier venues, funded research proposals, student mentoring, and recognition by professional societies.
