Srushti Rath

Research Assistant, C2SMART

Srushti Rath is a Ph.D. candidate at New York University (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering and a research assistant at the C2SMART Tier 1 University Transportation Center. She holds a Master of Science degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering from NYU. Her interest lies in leveraging operations research, machine learning, and supply-demand modeling in designing effective strategies and decision support models for large-scale strategic deployment planning of emerging mobility services.

Prior to joining NYU, she worked as an assistant executive engineer in the housing and urban development department, Government of Odisha (India), contributing toward the India’s flagship smart city program. During summer 2021, she worked as a research scientist intern at Amazon on large-scale freight recommender systems (in the middle-mile team). She also worked as a data science intern at Uber Elevate during summer 2019 (on air-taxi pricing optimization). She is the recipient of the S. David Ali Memorial scholarship awarded by the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Greater NY chapter for the year 2020.

With first-hand experience of transportation challenges faced by public agencies and major corporations, her goal is to provide sustainable, data-driven, and intelligent solutions. She is also a certified Indian classical dancer. During her leisure time, she enjoys dancing and sketching.
