FIRST KN-C³ WORKSHOP WITH KAIST

Over the course of May 15-18th, NYU Tandon hosted KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology) for the first KN-C³ Workshop. KAIST faculty and students traveled from Korea for the four-day workshop for a research exchange between the two schools, which focused on transportation and urban research.

The Future of Mobility Workshop Series

The NYU Rudin Center for Transportation specializes in policy related to the future of urban mobility. In the Future of Mobility workshops, the NYU Rudin Center will convene subject matter experts and government leaders. During the workshop, speakers and participants will identify policy initiatives and needs for seamless, technology-enabled urban travel.

Development of an Open Source Multi-Agent Virtual Simulation Test Bed for Evaluating Emerging Transportation Technologies and Policies

In previous years, the research team has developed and calibrated a base model implemented in MATSim and SUMO. This virtual testbed simulates an 8-million-person population and includes cars, trains, bus, bikeshare, taxi, and other for-hire vehicles calibrated to the year 2016. The team is building the architecture to host this virtual test bed and developing system design and user guide documentation.

Urban Microtransit Cross-sectional Study for Service Portfolio Design

The knowledge base from this data can be used to support design of portfolios of service options for a city. Given all the myriad of different options and existing public data, can we design a framework that can identify operating strategies that dominate in one or more sustainability criteria and quantify their performances within a portfolio of projects for city agencies to evaluate?

Sustainability of Urban Consumption Practices

This work will be conducted with the research group 6-t: Bureau de Recherche, based in Paris. The project aims to better understand and compare the consumption practices and mobility behaviors of the residents living in two of the major cities in the world (Paris and NYC). The work will be conducted through a simultaneous survey in both cities, analysis, stakeholder meeting and narrative.

Statewide Mobility Services Program Strategic Procurement Planning

The current Statewide Active Transportation Demand Management (ATDM) program is nearing the end of its contract period. This assignment will assist NYSDOT in setting a strategic direction and executing a procurement strategy for a new Statewide Mobility Services Program, building on the strengths of the evolving ATDM Program while leveraging the opportunities now available in the private marketplace.
